The Pros and Cons of a Virtual Photo Album   by Aaron Hu

Easy To Do
You have a photographer all lined up for your wedding and you are giving your guests photo album wedding favors and wedding cameras. This is great and you will get a ton of great memories but have you thought about a videographer? If you have, does he or she include the internet as a posting option part of your paid package? If not, it is not difficult to find sites that will host your wedding videos and Digital photos to share with your friends, family, and the world. You can also host them yourself with your very own website.

No More Paper Cuts
Posting your wedding memories online on a video website or blog is a great way to share your memories with the world. There are dozens of sites online that will do this for a fee, either monthly or yearly or you can host them yourself for much less. It all depends upon how internet savvy you are and how much or little time and money you wish to invest. Imagine being able to pull up full color video of your wedding with a click of your finger. There is no more drudging to the coffee table and lifting that heavy photo album. Paper cuts are a thing of the past now that you can see everything online.

That Dreaded Remote
Are you in the mood to watch your wedding video? Simply turn on your computer and click on the desktop link. Now you can watch your video over and over on your beautiful, full color monitor. It seems almost barbaric when we think about what we used to go through to watch our captured memories. Do you remember those days when you were forced to load that disc into a machine? That terrible feeling that we used to get finding the remote control and pushing those buttons was awful. It makes me shiver just thinking about it. How did we stand seeing ourselves on that great big flat screen with all that high definition? Actually, the worst part was having to snuggle up to our loved ones when we watched. Thank goodness, we can now sit in that big, comfortable computer chair and relax all by ourselves.

Sharing Your Memories
One of the best things about having our wedding and reception videos and photographs online is that now, anyone can see them. For years, these personal moments were limited to just close personal friends and family. Now Aunt Harriett, who turns 90 next month can look up her password, which she keeps on a piece of paper taped to her wall, and watch us get married again. Fortunately, the cable repairman, who copied down the info from Aunt Harriett’s wall can watch too. He, and his brother, who just was released from prison can sit back and relax while they enjoy the shot of my front yard where the reception was held. I especially like the part where the photographer captures the house number and you can even see the street sign on the corner in the background, if you zoom in.

What A Wonderful World
If it weren’t for the wonders of the internet, and the ability to post our favorite memories online, I don’t think anyone would get to see our children running and playing, secure in the knowledge that they are free from worry and safe from harm. What a wonderful world we live in now that we have the internet and our memories right where everyone can get to them, even that nice man who is sitting in that cable van out front with the laptop. You know the person; he is the one who slumped way down in his seat when my husband left for work. Why more people do not post their memories online is beyond me. I would sure like to watch their videos. I would bet many people would. Oops, I have to run. Someone is at the backdoor.

Martin Scorsese’s 1978 capsule history of the Band is mixed with footage of the group’s allegedly last performance (certainly their last performance as a quintet) in this particularly stylish concert film. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I is a brooding, slower-paced film than its predecessors, the result of being just one half of the final story (the last book in the series was split into two movies, released in theaters eight months apart).
